Planar Mechanisms

Up until now, the class has focused on mastering modeling and assembly in CAD, design of static structures, and use of joining techniques and fasteners. The planar mechanisms project is the first project in which teams must design a project that uses different mechanical elements to convert between rotary and linear motion. Each team is comprised of three to four students, and each student is responsible for the design of a planar mechanism. The mechanisms may work together to provide an overarching effect, or they may work individually.
